Michael C. Felk, brings over 28 years of professional experience, and practice in the field of Handcrafted Historic Lighting Fixture Design and Custom Lighting Fixture Package Fulfillment and supporting services.

 

 

Michael Felk, is one of a few of his kind, desiring to perpetuate the growth of an early European trade little understood but extremely important in the history of the new republic of the United States of America.  Since 1994, he has provided over 1000 professional interpretive shows in both the public educational, museum, and Agricultural Fairs, describing the artisan trade of Tin-smithing as it would occur in the 18th and 19th centuries of early America.   He is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and has combined both College and over twenty four years of professional experience in both research and direct applications of ornamental period lighting products and services.

He’s known for using his skills in making handcrafted lighting fixtures and Moravian Stars, one of the most well-known symbols of the Piedmont Triad.

He holds degrees specific to Manufacturing & Electrical Technologies and has designed and engineered over 700 Luminary devices for both Historic Residential and Commercial applications, with included continuous training on vendor lighting products and controls.
