The Candy Factory

Located under the red & white striped awning in the heart of historic Uptown Lexington, The Candy Factory is a treasure trove for children of all ages – especially those with a sweet tooth.

The Candy Factory first opened its doors on July 10, 1978 in the front area of Piedmont Candy Company, a wholesale manufacturer of pure sugar stick candy and mint puffs. Owner and second-generation candy maker, Robert Ebelein, sold his homemade fudge and peanut brittle along with his company’s signature products from this first storefront.

Children will find toys, stuffed animals and novelty items from yesteryear, birthday party favors and every imaginable candy from jelly beans, gum drops and root beer barrels to yogurt or chocolate-covered pretzels, candy buttons and wax lips.
