High Point has a unique downtown area that is unlike other cities, filled with furniture showrooms with one of a kind architecture that is recognized by people from all over the world. First opened for spring market in 1998, Natuzzi’s four-story building was designed by architect Mario Bellini of Milan, Italy to resemble a ship’s bow, complete with a gangplank entrance, porthole-shaped windows and a moat.

Worlds Largest Chest of Drawers

Don’t miss out on this must-see 19th century dresser known as the “World’s Largest Chest of Drawers”. Don’t believe us? Check it out for yourself. With two large socks hanging from the drawers as a nod to High Point’s hosiery industry, this 36-ft. tall chest of drawers makes a great backdrop to any photo!

Originally built in 1925 by community members and the High Point Chamber of Commerce as the “Bureau of Information”, The Chest was built downtown in Tate Park at Church and North Main in 1925 to draw attention to the city’s burgeoning furniture manufacturing industry. The building served as Chamber offices until the early 1950’s when the Chamber donated it to the High Point Jaycees, who moved it to the present location on Hamilton St. and expanded the office space by an addition to the back.
